EnvironmentRecyclingAlmost all used carpeting, whether it is made from wool or a man-made fibre, can be recycled and sold back into a variety of different industries to be used to manufacture new products. Carpet can be reclaimed through carpet re-use; chemical recycling and mechanical recycling, and in doing so, greatly reduces landfill. Pellets used in injection moulding products are created through this process. A carpet that still has wear in it can be carefully uplifted, and then donated to a non-profit organisation or charity for future use. From a purely Nouwens perspective, all wool waste is recycled internally, and all other waste yarn is re-worked and on-sold to secondary users for fillings and stuffing. |
